About our Nonprofit

ConservationVIP's vision, our mission, and more

Our Vision

We see a future where people worldwide are motivated and mobilized to sustain the world’s greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites and biodiversity.

Our Mission

Conservation Volunteers International Program (ConservationVIP®) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping sustain some of the world’s greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites, and biodiversity. One way we fulfill our mission is by offering volunteer trips to some extraordinary destinations where the trip participants volunteer on environmental conservation projects.

In addition to the work accomplished on our volunteer trips, we also sponsor Special Projects, to support our extraordinary destinations. These projects require longer time commitments, specialized skills and funding to implement, beyond the scope of what is feasible on our shorter volunteer trips.

We Believe in Volunteers!

Most of the administrative work of ConservationVIP® is done by volunteers and our trips are led by volunteers. We think that helps us to understand the needs of the volunteers who participate in our trips.

Accountability

We hold ourselves accountable on each volunteer trip. On our destination pages, you will find the detailed trip reports which we prepare after each trip, summarizing the project work accomplished on the trip. These reports, together with the information for our special projects form the basis for our impact reporting. On our destination pages you will also find participant reviews of the trips.

For additional information about ConservationVIP® management, responsibilities, and cancellation policies, visit our disclosures page. You can download our latest financial statements or 990 tax filing. We are committed to transparency and have earned the Platinum-level Seal of GuideStar (Candid), a leading source of information on U.S. nonprofits.
