ConservationVIP’s Mission

ConservationVIP^® is dedicated to helping sustain some of the world’s greatest landscapes, cultural heritage sites, and biodiversity.

To fulfill our mission, we organize and lead conservation trips to extraordinary destinations. On these trips, the travelers volunteer on environmental conservation projects.

We also sponsor Special Projects which support our extraordinary destinations. These projects require longer time commitments and specialized skills and funding to implement, beyond the scope of what is feasible on our shorter conservation volunteer trips. For Special Projects we seek out people with the necessary skills. We also arrange funding for the projects.

The Origins of ConservationVIP

We Believe in Volunteers!

We rely on volunteers to lead our conservation trips. Volunteers also perform much of the administrative work required to operate ConservationVIP as a nonprofit. Because many of us are volunteers, we understand that people who volunteer are very important people. Beyond that, we understand that travelers who volunteer want to have a good experience, so we work hard to arrange meaningful and rewarding experiences for our travelers. The many positive trip reviews you can find on our conservation trip pages reflect our care and commitment.

We are Accountable

Conservation Volunteers International Program (ConservationVIP^®) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As a nonprofit, we are accountable for our actions. We take this responsibility seriously on every volunteer trip. For instance, after each conservation trip we write a detailed trip report which summarizes the accomplishments on the trip. Then we post the reports on our website so people can read about the trip’s accomplishments. Finally, we use these reports, together with the information for our special projects, to summarize the results of our actions in our impact reporting.
